Fixed Media

PVC fill media for waste water treatment plants: This high quality PVC media named as BIOdek can be used in any wastewater treatment application requiring high surface area like SAFF, Trickling Filters (especially used for treating Distillery wastewater), Fixed Film Anaerobic Digester, Anaerobic Contact Filters, UASBR etc. The specific advantages of this media include very high surface area, chemical and weather resistant, double-edge folded, simple supporting, easy to install and much more.

For over fifty years, FIXED REACTORS, more commonly known as TRICKLING FILTERS, have been widely recognized around the world as a reliable method for the biological oxidation of organic wastes. Biological growth on the media surface of trickling filters converts dissolved organic waste material into byproducts like Carbon-dioxide, Nitrates, Nitrites, Water and Biological solids which are later removed by clarification.

Old effluent treatment plants generally used rock as the surface to induce such biological attached growth, but this system came with many disadvantages like heavy weight, elaborate support and other civil structure, poor wetting characteristics etc. To increase the efficiency of this process, while retaining the inherent advantages of attached growth system, various technical improvements such as solids contact, rotary distributor speed control, ventilation and the utilization of plastic media have been made.

Performance evaluation at treatment facilities show that at today’s high cost of energy, the highly efficient plastic media trickling filter is the most viable solution to a multitude of wastewater problems. Many of the several thousand municipal rock tricking filter plants in use today can greatly benefit by substituting plastic media. Alternatively, these plants could add modern TRICKLING FILTERS containing plastic media, in series or in parallel, to existing systems.

Tubedek

PVC tube settlers for solid liquid separation in water and wastewater treatment plants: Named as TUBEdek, it is a very high efficiency solid-liquid separator. This is due to the fact that its shape is hexagonal-chevron type that has got highest efficiency of separation among all other shapes available i.e. square, rectangular or hexagonal. Its area of application includes primary and secondary settling in water as well as wastewater treatment plants with any type of secondary treatment. It is also being very successfully used along with anaerobic digesters, to control the outflow of sludge and enhance gas production.

Traditional sedimentation tanks or clarifiers are large structures , occupying much valuable space , are perceived as high investment cost items.

Attacking the very crux of this problem, MM Aqua’s TUBEdek is a PVC tube settler which offers enhancing capacity for settling of suspended solids in a fractional area.

Using Munter’s technology, TUBEdek provides the most economical way of improving clarifier performance. Its major application areas are municipal, industrial and wastewater treatment. TUBEdek can be installed within settling tanks (both existing & new).

TUBEdek settling media helps to reduce the amount of suspended solids in carrier fluids ; thus improving effluent quality ; which in turn improves the efficiency of existing plants. Moreover, with TUBEdek, new clarification tanks can be designed in smaller size vice-versa maintain the same performance level, at less cost. The use of TUBEdek leads to the formation of large settling areas and small sink paths.

The TUBEdek model, FS 41.50 is easy to install in any shape of clarifier; its Hexagonal-Chevron shape is the most ideal for effective settling with or without coagulation or flocculation. High settling surface area (11 and 13m2/m3) leads to a very small clarifier size and the detention time requirement is also very low when compared to conventional clarifiers.

We have our structure framed keeping the Customer’s Interest in mind. We work on 3 L concept for economic solution and 3R concept for efficient solution.

3 L Concept:

Low Initial Capital Costs
Low Operating Costs
Low Energy Cost/Consumption

3 R Concept:

Reliable Performance
Resistance to Hydraulic and Organic Shock Loads
Robust construction

Features:

Increases the capacity of Clarifier
Increases the effective surface area of basin

BioGrip – B

FAB system is a hybrid reactor where attached growth and suspended growth activity takes place simultaneously and has good effect on de-nitrification and de-phosphorization; it is widely used in the industrial waste water treatment and municipal waste water treatment.

At MM Aqua Technologies, we design and manufacture and supply Moving Bed Bio Reactor (MBBR)/ Fluidized
Aerated Bed Reactor (FAB) media for Municipal & industrial wastewater treatment.

Essentially FAB system is a hybrid reactor where attached growth and suspended growth activity takes place simultaneously and has good effect on de-nitrification and de-phosphorization; it is widely used in the industrial waste water treatment and municipal waste water treatment

Process Principal:
The waste water goes through the suspending media of MBBR reactor, form the biological membrane on the surface of the media gradually, with the action of the microbial on the biological membrane, the waste water is purified. The media can move freely in the reactor with the mixing of the water; for the aerobic reactor, the aeration will make the media move; for the anaerobic reactor, mechanic mixing will make the media move. Our MBBR media is new-developed media for the MBBR process, has better treatment effect compared to traditional media.

Effective Microorganism

EM stands for Effective Microorganism was developed at the University of Ryukush, Okinawa, Japan in the early 1980s by a distinguished professor of horticulture, Dr. Teuro Higa. EM is a mix culture of aerobic and anaerobic, non GMO (Naturally Occurring), non-chemical, nontoxic (environmental friendly), and non-pathogenic (beneficial) microorganism.

EM encourages the growth of beneficial microbes indigenous to the environment. EM detoxifies contaminated water and soil and facilitate the restoration of an ideal biological balance. The potential of EM in treating all kind of waste, including effluent generating by industrial, agriculture and consumer application is therefore limitless.

When EM is introduced to a polluted area like wastewater, Solid waste and soil the EM microorganism will immediately begin feeding on the organic matter and multiplying – creating in the process, enzymes that curb pollution.

Wastewater treatment

Industrial and municipal wastewater treatment:-

The wastewater from industries and household varies so greatly in both flow and pollution strength. So, it is impossible to assign fixed values to their constituents. In general, industrial wastewaters may contain suspended, colloidal and dissolved (mineral and organic) solids. In addition, they may be either excessively acid or alkaline and may contain high or low concentrations of colored, lignin, cellulose and other complex organic matter. Use of EM will help in degrading complex organic matter into simpler form and also suppress harmful bacteria in system. There are some major benefits of EM listed below.

It reduce the BOD, COD, TSS, Total and Fecal Coliform in all effluent and sewage to PCB norms.
EM reduce the use of chemicals such as alum, lime, chlorine etc.
The use of EM leads to a large reduction in the Running Coast of an ETP
Reduction in sludge volume up to 20 % & No further treatment is required for sludge obtained
The pH value is controlled by the microorganism, so that effluent, after being treated, carries a neutral pH of around 6.5 to 7.5.
Use of EM also increase MLSS in biological reactor.
It helps reduced commissioning period of ETP/STP.
Improve plant stability and easily handled shock load.
EM suppress the foul order in effluent in a very short time.
No structural changes are necessary for implementing the technology. It can be easily applied into an existing ETP or STP and is equally effective for any other size of operation – be it river, dams, lake, hotel or private homes.
By reducing the retention time, it enhances the capacity of ETPs and STPs by over 25%.
Improve response to shock load and cold weather operations during winters.
Improve recovery from nitrification
Bring about bio-augmentation
EM technology is 100% Natural, Nontoxic & Eco-Certified.

LAKE/POND/DRAIN BIOREMEDIATION

Bioremediation: “Remediate” means to solve a problem, and “bio-remediate” means to use biological organisms to solve an environmental problem such as contaminated soil or groundwater and water bodies.

A healthy aquatic environment is a delicate balance between its ‘organic’ and ‘inorganic’ constituents. A common problem is that a water body has too much complex organic material present – this settles to the bottom where it forms silt and sludge and reduce capacity of aquatic body. The settled silt and sludge becomes the home for anaerobic bacteria which feed on the organic material, producing methane and hydrogen Sulfide gas – making the mud anxious and locking up nutrients.

EM is extremely efficient in breaking down the complex organic matter into simpler form, so that it can be used by other microbes like phytoplankton which in turn become feed for zooplankton and other invertebrates, which are in turn become food for fish. As these beneficial microbes grow in numbers, so do their capabilities to bio remediate water, soil and waste material.

SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT :

Every day, urban India generates 188,500 tons of MSW (or 68.8 million tons per year) and the waste generation increases by 50% every decade. More than 80% of this waste to reach open dumpsites where it causes damaging public health, deteriorating the environment, and causes climate change. Almost 72% of this waste is organic that is easily biodegradable and easily manage by EM technology and convert it into organic fertilizer that is rich in NPK and good for soil health. Some key benefits of EM for Solid waste is listed below.

EM readily degrade organic matter and convert it into Eco friendly product named “compost”.
Compost is rich in NPK and use as an organic fertilizer in gardening.
EM Suppress foul odor from garbage.
The volume of gases discharged from solid waste like CO, NH3, SO2, H2S and CH4 decreases to a large extent in the presence of EM-1. Foul odor is substantially removed.
Contaminated water from garbage is cleaned.
Suspended water from garbage is removed.
Suspended dust (TSP) reduce sharply.
The larva of flies and mosquitoes is minimized.
The cost of EM-1 treatment is almost negligible, compared to the cost of treatment garbage with time and insecticides.
EM-1 reduce the fermentation period drastically. The volume of solids waste is reduced quickly.
The compost processed from fermented garbage is supplemented with useful microorganisms, which make the compost imminently suitable for agricultural.

Landfills site treatment :

A landfill is a designated area in which a carefully designed structure is built into or top of the ground where waste is brought and dumped. Landfills are the easiest and cheapest solution to getting rid of garbage problems. Landfills contain primarily Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). The major problem are Landfills create a clear and obvious threat to human health as well as a threat to our environment from the hazardous contaminated air emissions emitted from the landfill biodegradation. The key environmental problem we face as a result of landfills is groundwater pollution from leachates (the liquid that drains or ‘leaches’ from a landfill). EM technology helps in reducing air pollution and leachate problem. EM are added to leachate and the landfill waste to detoxify the leachate, eliminating the worries of groundwater contamination.

Remediation Of Water Bodies

MM Aqua –PROTE-fos will together work for the remediation of water bodies i.e. Lakes, Ponds, drain etc. We have developed a unique and simple technology to obtain the best results after its implementation.

MM Aqua-PROTE-fos method involves inactivating phosphorus directly in bottom sediments during their intentional and controlled resuspension. It results in a decrease in the quantity of phosphorus in water. The success of the method is based on PROTEUS – a unique two-module vessel which applies simultaneously air and coagulum to bottom sediment. Effects of applying the method are: eliminating the so called internal loading, decreased phosphorus concentration in water, limitation of algal blooms, increased water transparency, submerged aquatic plants regrowth, oxygen concentration increase, biodiversity and stability of the ecosystem, permanent positive ecological effect.

Biosludge Management

MM Aqua has recently collaborated with Prote-Poland on MOS Technology. MOS Technology is the first of its kind technology which addresses the biological sludge reduction by improving the wastewater treatment plant biology without any changes in sequence of physical and/or chemical process design.

MOS Technology improves overall bioreactor biology and is a two-step process as described below-

Step 1: Some distinct naturally grown species of microbes & micro-nutrients are added into the bio reactor with help of a continuous dosing mechanism. This constantly increases growth of desired microorganism and suppress unwanted growth of filamentous, reduces weaker and dead cells.

Step 2: Some process monitoring analysers (which may be already present in some plants) are installed in waste water treatment plant’s bio-reactor, which helps in keeping the control on bio-chemical reactions and processes.

This results in the growth of desired flocculating biomass and lesser excessive sludge generation.

MM Aqua guarantees of 20% volume of bio sludge reduction in waste water treatment plant, however higher reduction up to 60% is attainable. MM Aqua offers free bio sludge reduction up to 20% and will only charge for bio sludge reduction of more than 20% on prior data basis. Higher reduction of bio sludge will leads to more advantages.

Features of MOS Technology at a glance:

First ever introduced technology to reduce Aerobic Biological reactor

It is the first ever successfully applied research based technology in the world which reduces aerobic sludge volume substantially. MOS technology reduces the biological sludge up to minimum 20% (guaranteed value, however higher reduction is possible) in the treatment process itself without hindering the operation and efficiency of process.

Supports main Wastewater Treatment Biology

MOS technology also directly supports the biology of the treatment system. It helps in maintaining designed SRT (solids retention time) and MCRT (mean cell residence time) which helps in keeping microorganisms younger and effective. It also helps in growth of flocculating bacteria and supressing filamentous growth.

Low Investment and Low Operational Cost

Investment and Operational cost of MOS technology is quite reasonable and is highly beneficial in comparison to the cost saved on sludge treatment, improved process efficiency and ancillary activities.

Efficient on Footprint

Space requirements for MOS technology is also less and requires <0.1% of the total plant process & operation area.
